As a born hunter, Guild member Elena Deveraux possessed the = ability to=20 sniff out her quarry. Every vampire has their own particular scent = which=20 Elena could track with deadly precision. Elena=92s reputation led = to her=20 latest job assignment, a hunt commissioned by Archangel Raphael. = As an=20 archangel, Raphael was the deadliest being Elena had ever faced = and from=20 what little information he had given her, the focus of the hunt = was=20 another archangel. Whether she succeeded or not, death was the = likely=20 outcome of this most dangerous job. Then again, maybe that would = be a=20 mercy compared to Elena=92s fate should she succumb to the passion = that=20 blazed between her and Raphael because as everyone knows, angels = always=20 break their human toys.

As an immortal, Raphael was one of the Cadre of Ten, archangels = who=20 ruled over their territories keeping angels and vampires in line = in=20 accordance with their laws. It was a contentious life as the Ten = liked to=20 indulge in power games and falling victim to the dreaded scourge = was=20 always a possibility. The little hunter intrigued Raphael as no = one had in=20 a very long time despite a warning that Elena would kill him = unless he=20 killed her first. As the object of the hunt began committing ever = more=20 gruesome acts in an escalating power play, Raphael and Elena find = killing=20 each other taking a back seat to tracking down the deadliest = predator of=20 all.

A refreshing twist on vampire and angel lore combined with = sizzling=20 sexual tension make this paranormal romance a winner. The action = is=20 intense, with a strong storyline, plenty of subplots adding = sufficient=20 depth and a capable heroine who is willing and able to take care = of=20 herself. Paranormal romance fans will be hard pressed to find a = better=20 read.
