Darkwatch
Game Platform: X-Box
Tala Sammy Studios has released the provocative image of Tala, created exclusively for a pictorial in the October issue of Playboy Magazine. A pivotal character in Darkwatch, the upcoming Vampire-Western first-person shooter (FPS) video game, Tala bares more than her fangs in the men's magazine spread dedicated to sexy video game leading ladies. The revealing image, capturing her dangerous sensuality as a half-vampire seductress of Native American descent, is the work of Sammy Studios' in-house team of artists working in conjunction with Brain Zoo Studios of Van Nuys, California. The image appears in a pictorial accompanying the article "Gaming Grows Up" in Playboy's upcoming issue, hitting newsstands this month. Tala plays an important role in Darkwatch as a femme fatale with equal lusts for blood and power. In Darkwatch, gamers play as Jericho Cross, an outlaw gunslinger pulled into the ranks of a vampire-hunting secret society when he is inadvertently bitten by a vampire lord. Sensuous and dangerous, Tala becomes Jericho's evil muse after luring him into a moment of passion where she urges him to bite her, making her into a powerful half-vampire like himself. Darkwatch is slated for release on the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system in spring 2005. The game is not yet rated.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2

Platform: PlayStation 2
Publisher: Eidos Interactive
Developer: Crystal Dynamics
Genre: Adventure
Release Date: Q4 2001

Blood Omen 2 will focus heavily on combat. A lot of work has obviously gone into the game's weapon-based combat system, and its effects are readily apparent, even at this early stage. Throughout the game--scattered on the ground as well as equipped by enemies--will be a variety of weapons, including swords, axes, staves, and daggers. Kain can pick up these weapons, each of which has its own combat characteristics; for instance, axes are powerful but slow, while daggers are weak and swift. He'll also animate differently depending on which weapon he's using, rather than relying on a single canned sequence for each. Kain can also grab enemies when he gets close enough to them and assault them with his weapon while they're defenseless. Again, the animations used for the grapple attacks will be particular to the weapon Kain's using. If he's holding a dagger, he'll stab his foes repeatedly; if he's armed with an axe, he'll brutally cleave their groins.

Vampire Night

Platform: PlayStation 2
Publisher: Namco
Developer: Namco
Genre: Action
Release Date: 2001

Anyone yearning for another entry in the House of the Dead series, your answer is here. Namco and Sega developer WOW are working together on Vampire Night, the spiritual successor to the House of the Dead series. Vampire Night is exactly like a House of the Dead game in every way but name, but the game's setting is much more gothic, having a sort of dark medieval European look.
The story takes place in the medieval time, where you must use your gun to defend yourself from the attacks of the deadly vampires, zombies, and monsters. In this game you can get bonus scores from saving the survivors from the attacks of the vampires and parasites, if you failed, the victims will turn into zombies and monsters, and backfire at you.
