Dracula's Castle is a text adventure game. The object of the game is to defeat the evil vampire, find the treasure that is hidden somewhere on the island, and search for items that may help you in your quest. Version 2.4 fixes several bugs: matches can no longer be lit underwater, the vampire no longer always says the same thing, and the inventory list has been repaired.

Vampire Chess

The Church of the SubGenius
Available at ZDNet.com

Displayed Size: l1.07 MB
OS: System 7
License: Shareware

Vampire Chess is a simulation of war between armies of vampires, just as normal chess is a game of war between armies of men. And just like chess, Vampire Chess tries to capture the feel of the war not by imitating the exact details of the conflict, but by providing a stylized system of rules that reveal the thinking behind the attack. The rules for this game of chess are different from that of traditional chess. Pieces advance by consuming other pieces; they win by destroying every last vampire on the other side. The Ancients, the most powerful of the powerful, capture the sense of the deadly vampires of fiction: but when they die, all other vampires on their side suffer. The game is faster paced than normal chess; combat is emphasized, as is winning at all costs. All pieces are expendable, and no one takes prisoners.

Battle vampires, lagoon creatures, ghosts, gremlins, werewolves, and other frightening creatures in this fast-paced action/puzzle game from Monkey Byte. 160 randomly generated levels will keep the gameplay spontaneous as you hunt your way to the top of each haunted tower, destroying creatures with weapons that are specifically designed to exploit their weakness, and then taking out their specific monster generator. Here's the trick: you can use only one weapon at a time. Unlock new monsters, weapons, and bizarre settings by defeating level bosses who have unique behaviors, attacks, and sounds.

Note: This demo version allows you to play a training mode and the Haunted Castle (level one). The retail price of the full version is $20.

MR WEEMS & THE SHE-VAMPIRES

Available at The Amstrad CPC Games Resource
http://tacgr.emuunlim.com/nvg/alphabetical/m.html

No information is listed about this game. All I know is that it is an arcade game originally set up to run on the old Amstrad CPC. Good luck running it, and let me know if you get it to work!

Note:The Amstrad CPC's were a range of 8-bit computers released in 1984/5 as rivals of the Spectrum & C-64. Unfortunately not as successful as the other 2 machines which is a pity as i believe it was the better of the 3 machines.

To run the software listed in these pages you will need copies of the emulators of which there are 2 main ones each with their own advantages and disadvantages, for more info on these, check out my Emulators page which will contain a more uptodate list of all available emulators. For now just download primarily CPCEmu and optionally CPE and you'll have all you need to get started (assuming you've downloaded a .DSK file that is!). Get info and stuff here.
