By: Narumi Kakinouchi

Episode I - Rainy blood
Episode II - Salome into the mist
Episode III - China blue

Dahlia has been published in one volume containing 3 episodes by Akita Shoten.
Studio Ironcat is proud to present a new adventure by renowned artist Narumi Kakinouchi of Vampire Miyu and Vampire Yui fame, about - vampires!

This is the tale of Lia D. Green, a mysterious English high school student who lives alone in a huge mansion. The only thing known about her, besides her one green and one brown eye, is that she likes to draw. But that is only on the surface!

Dahlia is not a part of the Miyu-Yui Vampire Series, and it has no connection with Miyu or Yui at all. This manga is divided into three chapters. I would like to warn you, however, that this story is very bloody and quite explicit. This is not like any of other Kakinouchi's work in terms of the exposure to violence.
Even so, Dahlia: the Vampire, has some attributes we recognize in Miyu, one of which is elegance. While Miyu gets her victims by manipulating their sorrow, Dahlia seems to attract victims through her passionate figure. Still, both Miyu and Dahlia are very reserved. Since Dahlia does not have the ability to grant eternal life, she just drinks her victim's blood. In some scenes, she cuts people's heads off and drink the blood straight from it. Suprisingly, she sometimes cries after she kills them; my interpretation to this reaction is that she is recalling the memory of her guardian, who was also her lover.
If you noticed in the picture, the color of her right eye is green when her vampire nature is revealed. In the last story, she will meet a chinese girl, also a vampire, who has a blue right eye and a handsome partner. The guardian of Dahlia, Greene, was also a vampire, but he died not long after drinking Dahlia's blood; through which she became a vampire.
The plot is based on Dahlia search for her lost love; Ranan D. Green. Ranan died a long time ago and was supposed to be reincarnated.
