Resident Medical Examiner working with the Metro Police for the City of Toronto, Natalie has little spare time. Even that little time is filled between caring for her cat, Sidney, and her vampire, Detective Nick Knight. After he scared her to death by walking and talking after jumping on a bomb, she agreed to help him find a cure - a way to regain his mortality. Along the way, she managed to fall head over heels for the gorgeous police officer and eventually, he reciprocated her feelings. Problems? Of course there are problems. LaCroix for one. He wants Nick to suffer for his lost affair with Fleur, Nick's sister, with whom he was in love. The second, and most annoying problem, this little thing about vamping out when he gets excited. Nick is too afraid he will turn Natalie into a vampire if he gets too close to her. Ouch, talk about needing your cold showers. Oh well, she'll be patient...
