The original two-hour television movie aired on August 20, 1989. It was titled Nick Knight and starred Rick Springfield. In the beginning, Nick was a 400-year-old vampire in Los Angeles, a detective assigned to investigate a series of murders in which the victims were drained of blood. And thus began the epic we now call Forever Knight. The response from the show was so positive, the Powers that Be decided to turn the movie into an hour long series. They made a few adjustments to the timeline and cast, and our series is born. Nick becomes 800-years-old and works for the Metro Homicide Division of the Toronto Police Force.
